Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Shareek-é-Ruh platform ("Platform"), operated by Shareek-é-Ruh Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By registering for or using the Platform you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
The Platform is a matrimony matching and consultation service. It is not a dating service, social network, or general communication platform. All use must be consistent with the purpose of finding a spouse for the purpose of nikah.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age to register.
- You must be seeking a spouse for the purpose of nikah (Islamic marriage).
- You must be legally permitted to marry in your country of residence.
- You must not currently be married, unless you are explicitly seeking a second marriage and have disclosed this in your profile.
- A family member or wali may assist a candidate with registration, provided the account is created in the candidate's own name and with their full, informed consent and active participation. The account belongs to the candidate, not the assisting family member.
3. Registration and account security
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe contains false information, has been created fraudulently, or is being used in a manner inconsistent with these Terms.
4. Profile requirements and moderation
All profiles are subject to review and approval by our moderation team before becoming visible in the match pool. By submitting a profile you confirm:
- All information provided is truthful and accurate.
- Any photographs submitted are genuine images of yourself.
- You are the person described in the profile. Where a family member has assisted with registration, the candidate has given their full, informed consent and is an active participant.
- You understand that profiles may be reviewed and approved or declined at our sole discretion.
We may remove, edit, or decline profiles that contain false information, inappropriate content, or that in our judgement do not serve the purpose of the Platform.
5. Consultations
All members must complete at least one consultation call with a member of our team before their profile becomes live. Consultations are:
- Conducted in good faith by both parties.
- Recorded for quality and safeguarding purposes (you will be informed at the start of each call).
- Not a guarantee of approval, we reserve the right to decline membership following a consultation.
6. Chaperoned communications
All in-platform communications between members of opposite genders are chaperoned. This means a platform moderator has read access to all messages. You agree:
- Not to share personal contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles) through the in-platform chat until explicitly permitted.
- Not to send messages of a sexually explicit, inappropriate, or offensive nature.
- That messages may be reviewed by our moderation team and may be used as evidence in any dispute or safeguarding matter.
7. Prohibited conduct
You must not use the Platform to:
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person.
- Solicit money, financial information, or gifts from other members.
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other members or staff.
- Post or share content that is defamatory, obscene, or unlawful.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise access the Platform's data or systems.
- Use the Platform for any purpose other than finding a spouse for nikah.
Breach of this section may result in immediate account suspension and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
8. Membership, payment and our verification promise
Membership is offered in three tiers, Khidmah, Mufaddal and Khuṣūṣī. Payment is taken when you join, before verification. By becoming a member you agree:
- Membership is monthly and billed in advance, in Australian dollars (AUD), inclusive of GST where applicable.
- Payment secures your place and opens the onboarding process (profile, identity verification, values and story, and a matchmaker welcome call). Full access to matches and chaperoned chat activates only once you are verified and approved.
- Verification promise: if we are unable to verify or approve your membership, you are refunded in full, less a non-refundable A$10 fee covering the genuine cost of the identity check carried out on your behalf. Where we decline a sincere applicant on grounds of fit, we will waive this fee as a gesture of goodwill.
- Identity verification only: verification confirms that you are a real person and who you say you are (a genuine government ID, a selfie and liveness check, and your name and date of birth). We do not conduct background, criminal, financial or character checks of any kind.
- You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not charge for partial months beyond the current period.
9. Limitation of liability
The Platform is a facilitation service. We do not guarantee that use of the Platform will result in a successful introduction or marriage. We are not responsible for the conduct of members outside the Platform, including in person, by phone, or on other platforms.
We verify the identity of members; we do not conduct background, criminal, financial or character checks. You are responsible for making your own enquiries and exercising your own judgement about any person you are introduced to, including any background or character checks you wish to carry out, which should be undertaken independently and offline. We strongly encourage involving your wali or family and meeting safely.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in respect of any losses arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia and the State of New South Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Members outside Australia may have additional rights under their local consumer protection law, which these Terms do not seek to limit.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Contact
